  1. Frequently used menu commands have Command-key
  2. assignments:

  4. NEW:  N
  5.   Open a window for a new command document.
  6.  
  7. OPEN:  O
  8.   Open a window for an existing command 
  9.   document.
  10.  
  11. CLOSE:  W
  12.   Close an input window.  If you have changed,
  13.   but not saved the document, SPSS queries you
  14.   to save it.
  15.  
  16. SAVE:  S
  17.   Save the document in the active window.
  18.   This command is disabled if the document is
  19.   untitled.
  20.  
  21. QUIT:  Q
  22.   Exit SPSS.  If you have any unsaved
  23.   documents, SPSS queries you to save them.
  24.   
  25. UNDO:  Z
  26.   Undo the last text-editing action.
  27.   
  28. CUT:  X
  29.   Cut selected text to the clipboard.
  30.   
  31. COPY:  C
  32.   Copy selected text to the clipboard.
  33.   
  34. PASTE:  V
  35.   Paste text from the clipboard into the 
  36.   active window at the insertion point.
  37.   
  38. SELECT COMMAND:  E
  39.   Select the command in which the insertion
  40.   point sits.  Lines above and below the
  41.   insertion point which are part of the same
  42.   command are selected.

  44. SELECT ALL:  A
  45.   Select all text in the active window.
  46.  
  47. FIND:  F
  48.   Opens the Find dialog box.
  49.   
  50. RUN SELECTION:  R
  51.   Run selected command(s).  If nothing is
  52.   selected, SPSS runs the command at the
  53.   insertion point in the active input window.
  54.   Another way to Run Selection is to
  55.   press the Enter key.

  57. OPEN COMMAND GENERATOR:  M
  58.   Opens the Command Generator and rearranges
  59.   the active input window below it, unless
  60.   you have set Rearrange Windows off
  61.   in Preferences.

  63. OPEN GLOSSARY WINDOW:  G
  64.   Opens the Glossary Window to the definition
  65.   of a selected word or the nearest word
  66.   in the glossary alphabetically.
  67.   To paste the definition at the
  68.   insertion point, click the Paste definition
  69.   button.

  71. OPEN VARIABLES WINDOW:  D
  72.   Opens the Variables Window, which lists
  73.   the variables in the current SPSS system
  74.   file.
  75.   To paste the variables at the insertion
  76.   point, click the Paste button.

  78. OPEN HELP WINDOW:  H
  79.   Opens the Help window to instructions on the
  80.   current window or dialog box.
  81.   You can leave the Help window open and
  82.   move it.
